Weather Challenges: The 384th Bombardment Group (H) flew as the 41st C Bomb Wing on today's mission. Weather conditions all the way to the I.P. caused the squadrons to lose contact with each other, and prevented attacking the primary target by visual means. The lead squadron made a normal PFF run. The high squadron followed a 303rd BG formation into the target: they were hemmed in by traffic and eventually dropped their bombs on the smoke markers of prior groups. The low squadron followed a 303rd BG squadron and released their bombs on their smoke marker. |
