Transportation Attacked: The 384th Bombardment Group (H) flew as the 41st A Combat Wing on today's mission. The field order specified that the primary target would only be bombed under visual conditions or using Gee-H equipment. Since the primary was cloud-covered and the Gee-H was unreliable in the lead and inoperative in the deputy lead Aircraft, the decision was made to bomb the secondary using PFF. Due to erratic behavior of the PFF equipment in both the lead and deputy lead aircraft, the lead position changed several times on the bomb run. Finally, the deputy lead got their PFF settled down and the attack was completed. |
