Traffic Jam: In the first of today's two missions, the 384th Bombardment Group (H) provided all three group formations of the 41st A Combat Bombardment Wing. Due to repeated air traffic conflicts during the bomb run on the primary target, followed by bombsight failure, targets of opportunity (TOO) were attacked. The lead group attacked an airfield at Prouvy (Denain), France; the low Group attacked an airfield at Vitry-en-Artois, France; the high group attacked an airfield at Moorsele (Wevelgem), Belgium. |
