T/Sgt. Alan Purdy, Radio Operator, and T/Sgt. Robert C. Corpening, Togglier, Clayton Crew - Updates

T/Sgt. Alan Purdy replaced T/Sgt. Miles Lisenby as radio operator on the Clayton crew after Lisenby was injured on a mission in February, 1944. Purdy returned to the USA after completing his tour of duty.

T/Sgt. Robert C. Corpening replaced 2nd Lt. Dick Dolf as bombardier on the Clayton crew after Dolf was wounded on the January 30, 1944 mission to Brunswick. Corpening was killed in the crash of a B-17 on the May 8th mission to Sottevast, France.

If anyone can provide further information and/or pictures of Alan Purdy or Robert Corpening, I will be glad to update this page. You can email me at WinJack3 Administrator.

Thanks in advance for your help!
