leading the formation. Top left aircraft is B-17G-45-BO, Ser. No. 42-97201, (SO-J), "Jamaica Mary" of the 547th squadron. "Jamaica Mary" was assigned to the 547th Squadron on March 31, 1944. It was salvaged on July 24, 1944.
Top center aircraft is B-17G-45-DL, Ser. No. 44-6149, (SO-U), "Hot After It" of the 547th squadron. "Hot After It" was assigned to the 547th Squadron on D-Day, June 6, 1944. It was destroyed by flak over Koblenz on October 11, 1944. Four crew members were killed and five were taken prisoner.
Top right aircraft (just above wing), sporting a replacement camo painted rudder, is believed to be B-17G-50-BO, Ser. No. 42-102449, (SO-R) of the 547th squadron. A/C 2449 was assigned to the 547th Squadron, 384th BG on April 16, 1944. It was scrapped at Kingman, AZ on December 18, 1945.
