"Bombardier to Pilot - Bombs Away!"

Negative of this photo was damaged during development in 1944. The photo image shown here has been partially restored.

On the bomb run, the bombardier actually controlled the aircraft, making corrections while looking through the famous Norden bombsight. When he released the bombs, he signaled the pilot that bombs were away. The pilot then re-gained control of the aircraft.
