  • Date of Birth: 28 June 1921
  • 2010-11-08, Ken Decker: Three men from the 545th Communications Section were killed on 18 April 1944 while crossing the runway after dark on bicycles, though this was forbidden. At that time, an RAF Short Sterling was doing touch and go landings. The Sterling was damaged, and crashed later with an engine fire after being diverted from their base at Stradishall to Woodbridge. Pilot and flight engineer were killed after remainder of the crew bailed out. The 3 killed on the runway were (names checked with grave registration): Cpl. James A. Moore 32359853, Cpl. Teddy R. Potocki 32141939, S/Sgt David K. Ollre 6288183.
