Airfield Attacked, Results Mixed: The 384th Bombardment Group (H) flew two formations on today's mission: 21 aircraft formed the high group of the 94th Composite Combat Bombardment Wing (94 Group) on today's mission, and seven aircraft formed the high squadron, high group, of the 41st Combat Bombardment Wing (41 Squadron). Weather at the Tours target area was CAVU, but a good percentage of the 94 Group bombs fell short of the airfield at Tours, and, according to the group bombardier, 'seemed to walk backward.' For the 41 Squadron, weather at the Chartres target area was CAVU and bombing was accurate. |
