  • According to Everett Barnes (Edward's twin brother) in 2014, Edward was a driver assigned the 1976th QM Truck Company to transport munitions (bombs) to various airfields, and Everett was assigned to motorcycle duty with the 1140th MP Company. Edward made a delivery to Grafton Underwood in 1944, allowing the brothers a rare opportunity to visit. They decided it would be 'fun' to serve together, and with a quick trip to the MP CO, Edward's transfer to the MPs was a done deal!
