Bad Day for German Oil: The 384th provided the three squadrons of the 41st Bomb Wing B Group. A visual attack on the primary target was not possible due to weather, so the Leuna works at Merseburg were bombed using PFF aiming. On returning to England, weather forced the diversion of 384th aircraft to Aldermaston and other fields; only two were able to land at Grafton Underwood. |
