Landed In Allied Territory Comments: Fourth Squadron. Subjected to intense and very accurate flak in target area; initially reported MIA, found to have landed in allied territory. The crew was uninjured, returning to base on 13 October, and resumed flying combat missions on the 15th. The Aircraft was returned to Grafton Underwood also. It was repaired, re-assigned to the 544th, and resumed flying combat missions on 11 December 1944. |
