Luftwaffe Attacked: The 384th Bombardment Group (H) provided lead and low groups of the 41st B Combat Bombardment Wing on today's mission, the high group being supplied by the 303rd BG from Molesworth, Station 107. Visibility was good in the target area, and visual bombing results were excellent. Our lead bombardier, 1st Lt. Robert P. Mechling, finding his assigned aim point obliterated, wisely shifted his sights to the next untouched group of facilities and destroyed them. |
