V-Weapons Targeted: The 384th Bombardment Group (H) flew three group formations - identified as H, I, and J Groups, the last three of ten groups comprising Air Task Force #1 - on today's mission to attack widely scattered V-1 launch sites. Note that the groups of this ATF flew in trail, not in combat wing formations. Although the J Group was unable to bomb its target (Fiefs) due to weather, the H and I Groups hit their assigned targets at Fleury and Flers, respectively. |
