DATE | 384th BG Mission # | 8th AF Mission # | 384th PRIMARY TARGET |
1944‑04‑20 | 92 | 309 | Target: V-Weapon Service Bunker (under construction) Type: CROSSBOW (V-Weapons) Location: Sottevast, France |
V-Weapons Attacked: The 384th Bombardment Group (H) provided two Groups of two Squadrons each, flying as the High Group of the 41st A Combat Bombardment Wing, and the High Group of the 41st B Combat Bombardment Wing on today's mission. Because of navigation discrepancies, the A Group executed its own bomb run, rather than dropping on the Wing Lead, as briefed. Despite CAVU conditions, it appeared that bombs fell short of the target. The B Group released their bombs on the Wing Lead and it appeared that bombs covered the target well. |
