No Bomb Drop Signal: The 384th Bombardment Group (H) flew as the low group of the 41st Combat Wing on today's mission. Lack of a bomb release signal from the Wing lead at the primary target led to the Group seeking a target of opportunity (TOO) on the route home. A group of industiral buildings were spotted in a break in the clouds, and bombs were dropped there, with unobserved results. Crews faced challenging weather on their return, leading many to land at other bases. |
