Target Hidden, Bombs Held The 384th Bombardment Group (Heavy) flew as the Low Group of the 103rd Combat Bomb Wing (Provisional) on today's mission, led by Col. Budd J. Peaslee. Although a bombing run was attempted from the planned IP, no bombing reference points in the target area were visible. Adhering to official policy - bombing only positively identified targets of military significance in occupied territory is permitted - bombs were not dropped. A B-17 gunship - known as a YB-40 - supplied by the 92nd BG, flew as #3 in the lead squadron.
