  • Update from Richard Langois: 'Captain Robert E. Langlois, Operations Officer 545th Bombardment Squadron. On April 8th, Major Ketelsen was placed on Detached Service with the 40th Combat Wing at Thurleigh and my dad was appointed Acting Squadron Commander. When he was shot down (during his 19th mission) on 27 April 1944 over Oberpfaffenhofen Germany, Major Parks was assigned from Headquarters Detachment to the command of the 545th. He is mentioned in George V. Strong Jr's Squadron History dated 1 February 1946 as one of the leaders of the 545th from Dec 28, 1942 thru February 28, 1946.'
