  • On 20 January 1945, while returning from a mission, broke his leg landing after bailing out. Due to a snowstorm over the base, the pilot was unable to land, and the entire crew bailed out. He was transferred out of the group on 1 February 1945 as a 'Battle Casualty,' per squadron history (microfilm A0641-00138).
