Transferred to the 545th Bombardment Squadron, Squadron Code JD-T, 384th Bombardment Group, Grafton Underwood Station 106 on 1 March 1944. Missing In Action on a mission to Bonn, Germany on 4 March 1944: Pilot George Cosentino, Copilot Harold F. Speck, Navigator George S. Malcolm, Radio Operator Vincent P. Romano, Waist Gunner Waldo F. Mariani, Waist Gunner James F. Stanley, Tail Gunner Glenn M. Faust - 7 Prisoner of War (POW); Togglier Michael J. Polito, Ball Turret Gunner Clinton H. Orean - 2 Evaded (EVD); Engineer/Top Turret Gunner Frank H. Butman was killed on landing, his chute hitting chimney and died before a doctor arrived.
