Assigned to the 413th Bombardment Squadron, 96th Bombardment Group, station 106, Grafton Underwood, UK on 27 April 1943; station 138, Andrews Field (Great Saling AAF-485) then Snetterton Heath on 12 June 1943. Transferred to the 546th Bombardment Squadron, squadron code BK-K, 384th Bombardment Group, station 106, Grafton Underwood on 14 August 1943. Missing in Action on a mission to Bremen, Germany, 20 December 1943 with Pilot-James Frederick Carnes, Co-pilot-William Harold Parsons, Navigator-Robert John Pue, Bombardier-Jacob S.
